Here is a list of simple questions about God's word, the Bible, and Bible verses that answer these questions:

1. Who is the Bible about? - In John 5:39: Jesus said that the Scriptures testify about him. See also Luke 24:27, 44, 45).

2. What does the Bible do for us? – Paul taught that ‘the holy Scriptures ... are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus’ and that ‘all Scripture ... is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness’ with the result that the ‘man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work’ (2Timothy 3:15 – 17).

3. Who can understand the Bible? – Only those who have been given understanding by the Spirit of God (1Corinthians 2:14).

4. What is the way to fight sin? – Hiding God’s word in our hearts (Psalm 119:11).

5. What is our protection against the evil one’s deceptions and accusations? - God’s truth (Ephesians 6:9 – 17)

6. What happens to those who hear and reject the words of Jesus? – They are judged by his words (John 12:47, 48).

7. What is the fate of those who alter, corrupt or distort the word of God? – They are eternally condemned (Galatians 1:8; Revelation 22:18, 19).

8. What is the most important reason for obeying the word of God? – Obedience expresses our love for Jesus (John 14:15).

9. What is the on-going result of love of God’s word? – True happiness/blessedness (Psalm 1:1 – 6; 119:1 – 16).
